Purpose
The Weston Block Captain Program is a community-based initiative where local volunteers serve as an organizing contact point for their neighbors when bad weather is about to strike or power is lost or in response to some other crisis. These volunteers form an essential support and communication network, especially for vulnerable residents and in need of assistance.
The Block Captains’ duties may include identifying residents in close proximity to their home and checking on them if it is safe to do so. The Block Captain Program promotes neighborly care and concern, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
