Emmanuel Episcopal Church’s 116th Family Fair — said to be the longest-running in the state —will be held Saturday, October 14, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on the parish grounds at 285 Lyons Plain Road, Weston. All Fairfield County residents and beyond are invited to attend, rain or shine. Admission is free.

The festivities planned will delight Fair-goers of all ages. Starting at 11 a.m., the grills will fire up and the music will begin. Live musical performances will feature two local youth bands: “Fever,” led by Billy Stammer, and “Moss,” led by Sophie Levy. Selected members of Tony Award-winning Kristin Huffman’s New Paradigm Theatre will be featured at 12 noon. Children will enjoy traditional fair games, a bouncy house and new this year: pony rides (from 12 – 3 pm) and a petting zoo from Critter Caravan (1:15pm – 2:15 pm).

Emmanuel’s longtime favorite, the “Country Kitchen” featuring baked-from-scratch apple pies and crisps, cookies, fall breads and rum cakes will return. Great finds are sure to be discovered via the outside vendors and local artists also in attendance — August & Ruth (handcrafted jewelry) Agatia Tria (Handmade art), Background Coffee Co. — to name a few.

All can bid on a Silent Auction featuring an array of items and experiences donated from community businesses and artisans. Included are a several flying experiences with a Certified Flight Instructor at Arrow Aviation at Danbury airport, tickets to the Met Opera, and more.

We’re hoping for a big turnout on a beautiful fall day,” said Ed Samson, Fair Committee Member and Sr. Warden.
