From: The Weston Gazette September 29, 2023 ARE ANSWERS TO UNEXPLAINED DEATHS AND DISAPPEARANCES TO BE FOUND IN TIME CAPSULE? Local officials are hopeful that a mysterious time capsule, found on the shores of the Saugatuck Reservoir, will finally put to rest the rumors of bizarre sightings and happenings that have plagued the valley for generations. The creation of our manmade reservoir began in 1938. Since that time, "Tales of witches who control the natural world, apparitions of villagers thought dead for years, a lost traveling circus and plaintive wails from over the meadows have haunted our Town” said Historian Elliott Taft. “We are inviting all townspeople to join us for the opening of this time capsule at the new Education Center at Lachat Town Farm. This will set straight the record of this valley and let those unfortunate souls who may have accidentally been caught in the flood to finally be at rest.” We warn that we cannot be held accountable for any distress either real or imagined should the contents of the capsule prove too distressing for audience members.
Details: The Haunted Farm is Back for the 3rd year! Be prepared to hike woods and traverse for ‘a spell’ on a hayride. This event starts on our upper field entrance at 1 LADDER HILL ROAD S, WESTON, CT. Please do not go to the main entrance on Godfrey. Recommended for ages 12+ but we allow parents to use their discretion on ages to bring. Not for the faint of heart! Tickets are sold in time slots and we can take 25 people per time slot. Proceeds from the event support our operating costs and educational programs.
Policies: The Haunted Farm is always a popular event and we need to adhere to a few strict policies for its success. NO REFUNDS or EXCHANGES. All children under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult (no exceptions). NO dogs allowed. Please arrive on time for your reserved slot. If arriving late, we can not guarantee admittance. No outside food or drinks permitted at event. Rain or shine event.
