Connecticut Military Heroes of Pearl Harbor - Author Talk

82 years ago the course of World War II was changed with the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Jeffery DeWitt will recount the stories of the life and service of those with ties to Connecticut who made the ultimate sacrifice as a result of the attack in and around Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. DeWitt’s book, “Connecticut Military Heroes of Pearl Harbor” will be for sale at the event.
The lecture will conclude with a short Q & A and book signing. Guided tours of the Coley House, which represents life on the home front during World War II, will be available after the lecture.

About the Presenter: Jeffrey DeWitt is a 26-year United States Air Force veteran who retired in the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, the top 1% of all enlisted grades. His medals include the Meritorious Service Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 6 oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 7 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 1 star, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border.

He served as the Chairman of the Advisory - Military & Veterans Liaison Committee for the City of Norwalk from its inception in November 2018 to December 2022. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Historian for the Iwo Jima Memorial Historical Foundation based in Connecticut. Born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, he has researched countless veterans and their stories, focusing on those who died during wartime service. He is a life member of the American Legion and is the Junior Vice Commander for Frank C. Godfrey American Legion Post 12 in Norwalk, CT.
