Music at the Barn Concert Series: Chris Coogan

Jazz Musician Chris Coogan Plays Music at the Barn
Sunday, July 9, 2023 – 5:30pm– 7pm – Weston History & Culture Center

WESTON, CT – The Weston History & Culture Center’s popular outdoor
summer concert series, Music at the Barn, is back for its 8 th season. Jazz musician
and Westonite Chris Coogan performs on Sunday July 9, 2023. Doors open at 5:00pm
for food, history, crafts and fun. Music from 5:30pm - 7pm. Tony Pizza Napolitano Food
Truck on site selling delicious pies! Bring a lawn chair, blanket, BYOB and enjoy the
show! Tickets at the door or in advance: https://westoncthistory.org. WHCC Members:
$15 per person; General admission: $20 per person; Children 12 and under: FREE.
Concerts are rain or shine. Music at the Barn is sponsored by KMS Team at Compass
and Fairfield County Bank.

In addition to the music, enjoy exploring old farm tools outside the Coley Barn. Kids of
all ages will enjoy the crafting table, lawn games, and a walk through the Daniel E.
Offutt, III Sculpture Garden. Explore history with a tour of the award-winning Coley
House – Life in the 1940s and view our new exhibition, “Weston Illustrated: Penned,
Painted & Sculpted”.

Chris Coogan has played pop with Phoebe Snow, Donna Summers, Bette Middler and
Darlene Love, broadway with Paul Newman, Jim Naughton and Kelli O’Hara and jazz
with Randy Brecker, Sal Salvador, and with his own Chris Coogan Quartet. He music
directs at churches, synagogues and with local theaters as well as leading the Good
News Gospel Choir. He teaches the art of jazz improvisation to many students locally
and at the University of Bridgeport. The New York Times has called him a “masterful
performer.” He is quoted as saying, “I like to bring people together with music.”

Future Music at the Barn concert dates include: Sunday, July 23, 2023: Otis and
Hurricanes, and Sunday, September 10, 2023: Old School Revue. For details and

The Weston History & Culture Center is located at 104 Weston Road Weston, CT.
Parking is FREE and located in our parking lot on High Acre Road. Overflow parking
along High Acre Road. Concerts are rain or shine. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket
as seating is outside. Indoor restrooms are on site.
