Weston Kiwanis presents “Personal Preparedness Entering Into the Hurricane Summer Storm Season, 2021”

Last year on August 4, 2020 Hurricane Isaías roared up the East Coast bringing wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour and heavy rain and slammed into Fairfield County in the afternoon. 96% of Weston homes lost power within hours, not to be restored until August 11, a week later. 160 (84%) of Weston's 191 roads had blockages or were impassable.
At the club's virtual meeting this Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 9:30 a.m., Michael Vincelli, Director Emergency Preparedness/Response, Westport Weston Health District will present on how to prepare, what to have available, and how to reach local emergency management during a hurricane.

Mike served 17 years as a Red Cross Operations Section Chief in Disaster Response and is a Director of the Westport Weston Wilton Medical Reserve Corps (MRC).
